 The Quizz Master | What a hoot! We didn't know what we were in for when accepting the invitation to Chappy's Spritual Music Quest held on Saturday in a private garden at Mission Beach. Chappy assumed the role of the Quiz Master while teams guessed the rock and role tunes chosen from the 70's 80's and 90's. The afternoon ran into the evening with a break for dinner which was organised with on site oven baked pizzas Plenty of other activities such as raffles, auctions, air guitar competition, guess the number of bottle caps were carried out with lots of humour and penalties, all to raise funds for a chosen cause. The event, held each year for the past 13 years has become so popular, guests travel from as far away as Victoria to take part. Many other guests were from Alice Springs where Chappy and his partner Angela lived before moving to Mission Beach two years ago. |
Last year the funds were raised for the Mission Beach Surf Lifesaving Club. Mission Beach Cassowaries was approached by Chappy and Angela at our market stall offering this year to help the cassowary.
Our team was called the Green Extremists came last with a score of 60, 9 points behind the next team and a whopping 72 points behind the winning team the 'Gutta Boys'. We might have been the biggest losers but the cassowaries are the biggest winners through the generosity of this fun group of people lead by the colourful Chappy.
A huge thanks to Chappy and all his helpers for caring about our cassowaries and organising an event to remember. We look forward to being part of this fun event again next year. Enjoy the photos which tell the story better than any words.
