Cassowary

This video is  of 'Bella" and her chick.  Yes, it is a her.  Bella is one of  'Mrs Jorrisens birds which means she was around when Freda Jorrisen owned the land now occupied by the Queeensland  Parks and Wildlife Service known as the Garners Beach Cassowary rehabilitation centre.

Bella is thought to be at least 45 years of age and there are  no records  of a female Cassowary raising a chick.

Freda bequeathed her large rainforested property at Garners Beach specifically for the cassowary's.
