Chappy's Spiritual Music Quest Fest event held last Saturday was on the same day as the Kings coronation. There are no prizes for guessing who had the most fun! For the past 11 years Mission Beach Cassowaries Inc has been the grateful recipient of the private fundraiser held in the grounds of Baden (Chappy) and Angela Chapman's home at Mission Beach. Known affectionately as 'Chappy' of Happy Chappy's Lawnmowing service, Baden transforms into his colourful 'Quizmaster' character for the day to entertain guests with questions on 70's and 80's rock music. The quest fest is interspersed with other fundraising activities including guessing the number of bottle tops, air guitar competition and raffles. Some of the regular contestants travel from as far as Adelaide and Charters Towers each year to take part in the fast paced, fun afternoon event. |

Guests participation is encouraged. This year there was no shortage of entertainment. "Extroverts make my job easier" Chappy said. | Dawn Shimmield takes it away with the air guitar |

Mission Beach Cassowaries (MBC) president Liz Gallie would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who made the afternoon such a special event. "The funds raised through Chappy and Angela's generosity go toward projects to help protect the cassowary at Mission Beach" said Liz. The 2024 event will be held on the 24th August. Table numbers are limited so if you know your 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music, and would like to be part of the next music quiz fest call or email Chappy to find out more. 0418 898 940 [email protected] Photo; MBC secretary, Sandal Hayes presents the 'Quizmaster' with a signed, framed cassowary print. |
