The intrusive rock wall planned for the end of Perry Harvey Jetty is now under assessment by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Authority.
There is no evidence presented that shows this costly, intrusive rock wall would benefit the economy.
It would diminish the visitor experience at the departure point to the Great Barrier Reef, the gateway of two world heritage areas at Mission Beach. It would change the ecology of Narragon Beach and degrade the beauty of the relatively wilderness bay inside unique Clump Point.
It will certainly affect the sense of place for many who live at Mission Beach.
Please help by signing the petition against an intrusive and ugly rock island breakwater at Clump Point jetty.
