An exciting new publication promoting Mission Beach will be launched on Thursday, 3rd November 2016
Mission Beach Cassowaries Inc (MBC) successfully applied for funding to produce a website and free booklet designed to entice international and national visitors to experience the natural environments of Mission Beach.
Terrain’s Tony O’Malley said “Terrain supported this project because it gets tourism and conservation working together for increased nature-based tourism business opportunities and environmental awareness”.
Titled 'MISSION BEACH - naturally', the 20-page booklet highlights the spectacular natural and cultural features that make Mission Beach a World Heritage Area.
President of MBC, Liz Gallie, who provided the photos and graphic design for the publication, said "We are very excited that peak tourism bodies such as Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), Eco Tourism Australia (ETA), and Wet Tropics Management Authority (WTMA) have been so willing to offer support by helping with promotion".
We will be working on placing Mission Beach firmly in the destination market with a strong identity as a place where two World Heritage Areas meet and where you have the best opportunity to see a cassowary in the wild" Liz said, "After all, Mission Beach is the 'Cassowary Capital' of the world".
CEO of QTIC, Daniel Gschwind, is enthusiastic about the potential of the booklet. He said "The Mission Beach region is blessed with outstanding natural assets, from the spectacular Cassowary to the Great Barrier Reef. This guide will entice more visitors to go ‘natural’ in Tropical North Queensland and it will make us all appreciate the natural wonders more than ever. I commend all the partners who contributed to this wonderful publication".
MISSION BEACH - naturally will be launched by Mark Evans, Chairman of Tropical Coast Tourism and owner of Paronella Park, on Thursday 3rd November at Castaways Resort at Mission Beach.
